A blossoming country town nestled along the Chocktawhatchee Bay just 15 minutes from the most beautiful beaches in the world! For many years, Freeport was known for its serene under developed natural setting and its boating opportunities with easy access to major bayous, the bay and the Gulf. But as the Beaches of Destin and South Walton exploded with development during the early 2000’s and land prices went through the roof, Freeport started to attract major developments of its own. Hammock Bay, (a three thousand acre premiere development), Windswept, and Owl’s Head (golf course developments) were just a few of many. However, when the market crashed in 2008, developments on both sides of the bay stalled and the banks took over.

Naturally the beaches rebounded first and have seen prices more than double over the last two years as all the distressed property was gobbled up. That gold rush is about to make its way to Freeport.
